SCCHA Office Closed Until Further Notice

Due to public health directives concerning the transmission of COVID-19, the Santa Clara County Housing Authority is closed until further notice. Updates will be posted on this page.

Please note: The Housing Authority will have limited resources to respond to inquiries during the closure. Processes not able to be completed due to an agency closure will be processed upon our return. This catch up work will take time so we appreciate your patience.

Also note: During our office closure letters from SCCHA may look a little different and come with an out-of-area postmark.

Information for landlords

We will continue to disburse rental assistance based on current records. We may not have the capacity to prepare paper checks, and, in that case, you will be paid in full when our staff are permitted to return to work.

We will suspend interim voucher payment adjustments, including rent increases, adjustments of the tenant rent portion, etc; they will be processed upon our return.

Because we are not processing interim voucher payment adjustments, your tenant may have reductions in income or other issues that prevent them from paying their tenant portion. Please be aware of the countywide moratorium on evictions during the state of emergency in Santa Clara County.

Information for voucher holders

We will continue to disburse direct deposit monthly rental assistance payments to landlords based on existing information in our system for your family.

We will suspend reexaminations, interims, rent increases, inspections, moves and changes to household composition, etc. If you experience a reduction in income that impacts your ability to pay rent, please understand that the County of Santa Clara has enacted a moratorium on evictions.

If you need an inspection for a new unit, you can call 1-408-275-8770, our main line, and you will be routed to Nan McKay to schedule an inspection.

Tenant Portal:

If you are not currently enrolled in the Tenant Portal, please click here to enroll so you can access information and submit requests online. Please note that if you submit a request or message that there will be a delay in receiving a response from the Housing Authority.

You can submit the following requests through the Tenant Portal:

• Message Specialist
• Add or delete household member
• Report an income change
• Request a reasonable accommodation
• Submit a notice to move out of your unit

You can also see the amount of your rent portion.

Email and Phone

While general requests and inquiries can be sent to, please limit emails and phone calls to the Housing Authority during our closure since there will be limited ability for staff to respond to messages. Please contact us when our office is open.

U.S. Mail

You can still send letters and packages through the U.S. Mail and other carriers to the Housing Authority, but mail will not be opened during our closure.
