SCCHA Operating Status (as of March 8, 2021)

Due to public health directives concerning the transmission of COVID-19, SCCHA's building remains closed to the public until further notice. Updates will be posted on this page.

Contacting SCCHA While We Are Closed to the Public

You may contact our Customer Service at (408) 275-8770 from 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. We are closed every other Friday. Response and processing times may be delayed.

  • Many requests can be submitted to us online using the Tenant Portal or Owner Portal - register today! Email, phone, fax and U.S. Mail are also options.
  • Clients can also deposit documents in the drop box located outside our 505 W. Julian Street office.
  • Clients may submit their Request for Tenancy Approval (RFTA) via email to RFTA@scchousingauthority.org.

Victims of Domestic Violence

Many victims of domestic violence may be feeling trapped at this time because of job loss and sheltering in place requirements. Sheltering in place requirements do not require anyone to remain in a violent or unhealthy situation. If you seek an emergency transfer from your home, please complete this form and submit it to your Housing Specialist. For further information on what you can do to protect yourself, contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline at https://www.thehotline.org/

SCCHA is Processing Voucher-Related Requests

Staff is processing all voucher-related requests during its closure to the public including annual reexaminations, income change requests, rent increases, move requests, new unit inspections, changes to household composition, etc. Many requests can be submitted to us online using the Tenant Portal or Owner Portal 

Income Loss due to COVID-19

Voucher holders: Please complete this online form if you have experienced a loss of income due to COVID-19. You will use the 'e-signature' function to electronically sign your form and submit it to SCCHA online. You must have a valid email address to sign and submit the form.

SCCHA Is Conducting Regular Housing Quality Standards Inspections

As of August 2020, SCCHA has coordinated with Nan McKay & Associates Inspections (NMAI) to conduct regular inspections. NMAI has instituted new safety precautions to avoid the spread of COVID-19:

  • NMAI will conduct inspections using a contactless process that includes a simple health questionnaire, physical distancing, and the use of personal protective equipment such as gloves and masks.
  • Inspections may be rescheduled to accommodate conditions that place the tenant or the inspector at risk.
