About Buena Vista
The Buena Vista Mobile Home Park is a historic housing community located in the City of Palo Alto rooting back to the 1920s when it was first advertised as an “auto camp.” By the 1950s, it had evolved into a mobile home park with hookups for utilities in each home space.
Since acquiring the park in 2017, the collective goals of the City of Palo Alto, County of Santa Clara and the Housing Authority have been to avoid the displacement of Buena Vista families and improve conditions. With this in mind, the Housing Authority will start an improvement plan where park-owned utilities (water, gas, sewer, and electricity) are replaced and outdated amenities such as the laundry building are also replaced. This will improve utility service at the Park and provide for further investment in the long-term affordability and preservation of the site as an affordable housing resource
