Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) announces the successful acquisition of two affordable housing properties in East San José. The Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) announced that it will receive 95 new Housing Choice Vouchers (HCVs) as part of a larger award of 19,000 new vouchers being distributed by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to almost 2,000 public housing agencies nationwide. In what HUD calls the most expansive allocation of flexible new rental assistance in 20 years, the new housing vouchers will help eligible low-income individuals and families living in Santa Clara County pay their rent amid rising inflation and housing costs.

WASHINGTON - U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Marcia L. Fudge today announced Santa Clara County, California as the 100th community to join the Administration’s House America initiative to tackle homelessness by leveraging American Rescue Plan and other federal resources through a Housing First approach.
