The Mainstream Voucher program provides vouchers for low-income households that include a person(s) with disabilities. The program is designed to help tenants with disabilities live independently in the community.

 

The Mainstream Voucher program is operated under SCCHA’s Moving to Work (MTW) program authority.

Who is Eligible

  • Must meet Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program eligibility requirements.
  • Families that include a person with a disability.
  • Applicants must be registered on the Section 8 interest list and have identified that one or more family members under 62 years of age is a person with disabilities.
  • Families that move to Santa Clara County with a Mainstream voucher from another housing agency will be issued a Mainstream voucher here, if one is available. But if no Mainstream vouchers are available, they will receive a regular Housing Choice Voucher.
